Electronics Technician

JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for repairing and maintaining all electronic and mechanical equipment.  Work with the technical services team to ensure the proper maintenance and calibration of all equipment.  This also includes educating all road staff and production crew on proper maintenance and parts installation techniques.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND REQUIREMENTS

  • Understands, abides by, and instills the philosophy, policies, and procedures of Bandit Lites.
  • Perform repair and testing of circuit boards at the component level, including diagnosis and rectification of complex electronic issues.
  • Use a microscope and fine soldering techniques to repair components with minimal lead spacing.
  • Troubleshoot and repair Bandit Lites’ lighting and control equipment, ensuring all systems are operational and meet safety standards.
  • Conduct basic mechanical and electrical repairs, including servicing and adjusting devices such as motors, sensors, and lighting components.
  • Adjust, calibrate, and align fixtures to meet precise specifications and optimize performance.
  • Educate and train road staff and production crew on the proper operation, maintenance, and parts installation techniques for lighting and control equipment to ensure longevity and safe operation.
  • Ensure that equipment maintenance logs are accurate and up-to-date.
  • Follow safety protocols and regulations when handling high-voltage equipment and working in various environments.
  • Work collaboratively with the technical services team to address immediate repair needs and provide proactive equipment maintenance.

Requirements and Expectations

  • Consistently provide high-quality work, ensuring repairs and maintenance are completed to industry standards and within time-sensitive requirements.
  • Ability to work with very small components and in confined spaces with precision.
  • Proficiency in reading and understanding schematics and technical manuals.
  • Strong soldering skills, particularly with small surface-mount components and precision work under magnification.
  • Proficient in using diagnostic test equipment, such as multi-meters, oscilloscopes, and power supplies, to troubleshoot electrical systems and components.
  • Knowledge and experience working safely with high-voltage equipment and electrical systems, adhering to safety protocols.
  • Proven experience in troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing electronic devices, particularly in the field of lighting and control systems.
  • Solid computer troubleshooting skills, including experience with control systems, motor drivers, and other equipment commonly used in entertainment technology.
  • Experience with Pulse Width Modulation (PWM), Stepper Motor Drivers, Power Supplies, Logic Circuits, and serial communications as they relate to hoist control and operation.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and to stand/walk for extended periods.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Associate degree

Experience: 3+ years of electronics repair related work experience.
