System Administrator
This is a full-time, in-person position based at our Knoxville, TN office, working Monday through Friday. Please note that this role is not eligible for remote or hybrid work.
JOB SUMMARY
Install, configure, and maintain the Bandit Lites IT infrastructure, primarily at the Knoxville location. Support the needs of the staff and IT team locally and at other Bandit locations as needed. Ensure system stability, security, performance, and user access. Install, configure, and upgrade computer and server systems. Provide routine updates / security patches. Troubleshoot network / hardware / software issues. Offer technical support for various projects.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND REQUIREMENTS

· Understands, abides by, and instills the philosophy, policies, and procedures of Bandit Lites.
· Keep PC’s, servers, and networking equipment up to date on current firmware / software patches
· Monitor system performance to prevent bottlenecks and ensure uptime
· Perform regular backups and recovery testing in accordance with disaster recovery plans
· Provide technical support to all staff for application and connectivity problems
· Maintain company databases on various platforms
· Install and configure hardware and software
· Document system configuration / changes
· Train end users on proper operation of various hardware & software systems
· On-call after hours for VPN or connectivity issues as well as power outages
Requirements and Expectations
• Proficiency with operating systems (Windows 11 & Server, Linux) and virtualization/container technologies (VMware, Proxmox, Docker)
• Understanding of networking, including cabling, LAN/WAN, DNS, firewalls, and VPNs
• VMware technical associate certification (or equivalent VMware experience)
• Proxmox VE training certification (or equivalent Proxmox experience)
• MSSQL server management experience
• Storage array / iSCSI experience
• Active Directory management experience
• Strong analytical skills to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues
• Ability to conduct research into issues and products as required
• Self-motivated, dedicated, and the ability to work alone
• Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
• Ability to lift up to 50lbs and to stand/walk for extended periods.
• This is not a work from home or remote job. There should be no expectations otherwise. You will be on site
Preferred Skills
• Fortinet NCS Specialist level or higher (or equivalent Fortinet experience)
• Ability to develop scripts and automate tasks

QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience, with 3+ years of IT experience.
Experience: 3+ years of experience working in IT with hardware and networking equipment
