ANAHEIM, CA – Bandit Lites is immensely proud to share Carter Fulghum was recognized as Lighting Director of the Year for his work with Shinedown at the 2024 Parnelli Awards. Fulghum consistently delivers the Bandit standard of excellence, making him a treasured asset on the Shinedown tour for over twelve years.
“It has been a great honor to receive Lighting Director of the year and I would like to say thank you to everyone who voted for me,” shared Fulghum about the award. “I also would like to thank all the people who have helped me through the years with my career; from doing local stagehand work in Jackson, TN all the way to working for Bandit Lites.”
“I would like to thank Michael Strickland for believing in me and giving me the opportunity to work with Shinedown,” he continued. “I would like to thank Brent Smith, Barry Kerch, Zach Myers and Eric Bass for their friendship support. They have always been there for me. I would also like to thank Mitchell Schellenger and Zach Myers for their wonderful lighting design.”
In addition to the Shinedown team, Fulghum also acknowledged the support system at Bandit Lites, including the lighting crew and Project Manager Matt King saying, “They were always on point and help keep everything running smoothly, and finally, Brent Barrett, who was Shinedown’s client rep for years and Mark Scherer who took over that responsibility after Brent retired. Thank you all very much without any of you this would not have happened.”
“Carter is an amazing person and a great friend,” offered Bandit Chair Michael T Strickland. “Carter spent years at the helm for the band Alabama during their heyday. He is accustomed to working at great heights. He has worked with several artists through the years, but the last twelve years have seen Carter as the 5th Beatle with Shinedown. Carter’s amazing syncopation with the Shinedown music is second to none. His talent, dedication and quality are exceeded only by his humility. Everyone that meets Carter has only love and respect for him, and that starts with me. Congratulations my friend, this is more than deserved!”
