NASHVILLE, TN – Legendary performer Sir Tom Jones returned to the road with a stunning new production that blends powerful video content with a bold, versatile lighting design, supplied by Bandit Lites. Under the vision of Lighting Designer Mark Cunniffe, the rig showcases both technical precision and artistic flair, seamlessly enhancing Jones’s dynamic performances.

Cunniffe’s design centered around creating a cohesive integration between lighting and video, making the visuals feel like a natural extension of the artist’s storytelling. Rather than traditional left-and-right IMAG, the video content served as the backbone of the production, with carefully programmed lighting weaving between video columns to complement the immersive atmosphere.

“I have always been a fan of the Clay Paky B-Eye,” shared Cunniffe. “It is a very versatile unit and when used in full pixel mode it can create a myriad of different effects as well as being used as a general punchy wash light. Hanging them vertically showed off the feature set of the unit, and supplementing the B-Eye with the Chauvet Color Strike M proved to be a perfect combination for The Sir Tom Jones production.”

The rig, tailored for venues with 40-foot openings or smaller, was designed to be both powerful and flexible. While a few stops presented weight challenges, the system adapted effortlessly, ensuring the full visual impact remained intact across the tour.

Supporting Cunniffe’s design was an expert team, including Lighting Director/Programmer Josh Musgrave, Production Manager Dave Larkin, Client Rep Mike Stanley, and Project Manager Andrew Ellis, along with Bandit’s touring crew members Scot Sepe and Derek Ingrao.

Client Rep Mike Stanley said “I very much enjoyed working with Mark, Josh, and Dave to be a part of Sir Tom Jone’s Tour. They were firm on the design but gave me some flexibility where able. We’ve had the opportunity for a few years now, and I’m looking forward to many more.”

“Excellent as always,” Cunniffe added of Bandit’s partnership. “A production is only as good as its crew, and I knew from day one in Nashville that we were going to be fine on the road. A huge thank you to team Bandit.”
